OPEN SKY PRAYER

Some days, the best thing you can do for your soul isn't to accomplish anything at all. It's just to step outside, tilt your head back, and let the sky hold you for a minute.

There's something about wide open space that makes room for wide open feelings. When you're staring at clouds drifting by, it's hard to stay tangled up in your own small worries. The sky doesn't ask anything of you. It just is. And in that stillness, you get permission to just be, too.

"The sky doesn't rush to fill itself with clouds, it lets them come and go, and somehow, that's exactly what makes it beautiful."

The sky is always changing, and it never apologizes for it. One hour it's fierce and stormy, the next it's soft and pink at the edges. It doesn't cling to yesterday's weather or worry about tomorrow's forecast. That's a kind of wisdom you could use more of. You probably hold on too tightly sometimes, to old versions of yourself, to mistakes, to moods you think define you. The sky reminds you that change isn't something to fear.

This isn't about prayer in the traditional sense. Think of it as attention. As the practice of pausing long enough to notice you're alive, under something so much bigger than your to-do list.

"Some prayers don't need words. They just need you looking up long enough to remember you're small, and that's okay."

Next clear evening, step outside for five minutes. No agenda, no goal. Just you and the sky, having a quiet conversation that doesn't need to turn into anything else, unless it does.

"You don't have to understand the sky to feel changed by it."
