Creative Ways To Get You In The Writing Zone – Part 1
Creative Ways To Get You In The Writing Zone – Part 1
Here are two of my favorite creative tools to get me to the Writing Zone and keep me in it.
This is the one that gets me going – perfect for short burst of writing
WRITE OR DIE……..
This is just what I needed to get me going for this blog……that’s right! WRITE OR DIE! No, No, No, I don’t want to die, I wanna write, I wanna write….. I thought this would be appropriate for my first official post.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
- Well, it looks like this was tailored made just for “moi”
- This is perfect for those of us who can’t seem to get going when it comes to writing that post, getting started on writing a book or brainstorming for those lyrics
- If you find it difficult to get into the writing mood then this is for you my friend
- It’s perfect for the “I can’t finish what I started writing” crowd
WHAT IT CAN DO FOR YOU
- Get rid of all the distractions that keeps you from getting into the writing zone
- It chips away at the huge writer’s block that you’re facing
- It helps you separate the writing process from the editing process and we all know how that goes
- It encourages free writing – it helps you let go and let the words flow out right on that page
- All you do is type in the Text Box and off you go
HOW IT WORKS
- Just start typing in the box and keep typing and typing… and this is where all the fun begins. It will give you a few seconds for pausing but if you pause too long then watch out!
There’s 3 levels:
1. “Take it easy on me” level: a pop up box appears with a gentle reminder to keep writing
2. “Stop you’re driving me crazy” level:
You’re gonna hear the most annoying sound if you don’t keep your little fingers on that keyboard3. “Oh no… where did it all go?” level. That’s right everything you wrote is deleting itself word by word line by line unless you hit that keyboard again
HOW TO USE IT – so many ways
- Use it for deadlines!
- Use it to do some clustering writing for your lyrics
- Use it to train yourself to get in the habit of writing for however how long
HOW MUCH AND WHERE CAN I GET IT?
- Well you have a choice, there’s the no cost online version http://writeordie.drwicked.com and the desktop version for just $10
Take a look at the following videos, explained in detail by Mr Write or Die himself, Dr Wicked…..
THE FREE ONLINE VERSION
THE DESKTOP VERSION
The other one on my list is: MindOmo – this is the one that keeps me there
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ONE despite the fact that its not compatible with my iPhone and iPad (coming from an iphone junkie) of all the most popular Mindmap platforms out there and yes I’ve checked them all – MindOmo is by far my favorite. The one I always come back to.
This is great for songwriters. Perfect for clustering and immerse yourself in writing lyrics. This definitely gets my creative juices going. It has an easy interface with a short learning curve.
Perfect for:
- Organizing your ideas
- Create vision boards
- Its great for creating storyline for your songs
- You can insert videos, images, links, notes
Check them out. There’s also a free version but you’re gonna want the paid version. It’s worth every penny.
